We were asked to help expose Visa’s new payment technology, Visa Checkout, to some of ABSA’s top bankers in South Africa. Visa Checkout is a secure payment method that uses a username and password instead of credit card details and allows safe 1 click purchases.
Visa and ABSA were holding a charity golf day, and this presented us with the perfect opportunity to expose the bankers to Checkout. We created a donation website for the golf day and gave the bankers an appealing incentive to use Visa Checkout; any donation made through the platform on the day would gain the donor access to a specially designed golf tee on the 8th hole with a swinging camera rig attached.
Donors teed off and our rig automatically captured high frame-rate video of them in a 360 degree arc, showing off their golf swing from all angles. this footage was automatically uploaded to the Visa Swing website and could then be posted to social media. The top two donors on the day and one randomly chosen donor were also entered into a 19 metre putting challenge for a chance to win R100 000
Attendees of the golf day were sent an email before the event explaining the donation platform, prizes and encouraging them to sign up to Visa Checkout.
On the day, the bankers had a shotgun tee off, meaning we had 4 players at our tee at any one time. Promoters encouraged them to make a donation and step onto the tee to have their swing captured.
