Visa eLearning is a bespoke online learning platform that changed the way Visa educates thousands of staff from hundreds of banks across more than 50 countries in the CEMEA region.
Keeping banks and their staff up to date with the benefits of Visa's products, services and platforms is an ongoing task. New services are being created yearly and older ones are being updated constantly. Visa previously had course materials created and would send training personnel to new banks periodically to conduct training sessions with the staff of new banks as they were being onboarded. This was time consuming and very cost ineffective. We saw this as an opportunity to fundamentally change the way Visa engaged with banks and create a valuable business tool.

We designed and built a bespoke digital learning platform that equips banks and their staff with essential knowledge through the use of online courses and tests to improve their knowledge about products and services offered by Visa. The platform is responsive to allow students to learn and test their knowledge on any device. The platform and course content are available in multiple languages including English, Russian, French and Portuguese and content is specially created to be quick to read and easy to understand.
As new courses become available, students can read and watch them before taking short questionnaires. Nudging emails are sent to encourage students to complete course modules if they've dropped off or to retake courses they did not pass. Each time a student completes a course with at least 80%, a certificate is generated and becomes available on their profile.
After launching successfully in South Africa, Visa eLearning was adopted regionally and is now an integral part of Visa's value added services offered to banks. It has also been a successful business tool providing a more cost-effective way to to train bank staff across the region.
Issuers have access to a custom reporting dashboard that provides detailed information and helps them monitor the progress of their staff. The reporting tool gives Visa an overview of the progress across all issuers and has become an invaluable source of insight.
