The Sasfin Content Hub is a standalone media site for Sasfin Bank & wealth that has helped the marketing team to overcome the limitations of their main website. It has become an essential business, insights and lead-generation tool for the bank.
Sasfin’s current website is built in such a way that it does not allow for easy content updates. Long turnaround times on any new content or changes to existing pages has hampered the marketing team’s ability to use this owned platform effectively. Our client was looking for a way to reposition Sasfin through the creation and sharing of content and we wanted to use that opportunity as a way to prove that a more efficient system could be implemented on the main website to speed up content updates. With this in mind, we made the decision to use the same Umbraco CMS used on the main website to prove our point.
Our team audited all the existing content on the media section of Sasfin’s website, and from this we were able to suggest content categories and subcategories. These were workshopped with stakeholders and allowed us to create a sitemap aligned to Sasfin’s business and positioning goals. At the same time, we researched and presented best practice examples from local and international sites to gauge the reaction to various layout and design language options.
Our sitemap and references were used by our UX design team to iterate wireframes and build a clickable prototype of the Content hub. The team also designed a comprehensive UI kit with all components while our developers configured a modern version of the Umbraco CMS and created different user roles for our clients so they can create or publish content. We reformatted and republished all previous content from the media section and the team conducted training lessons with the client to guide them through the process of publishing content and created a .pdf handbook for them to refer to.
In the end, we designed and built a custom content hub that houses all previous content from the Sasfin media section and caters for text, images, video and audio content. The content hub lives on a subdomain and has completely replaced the old media section of the website. Monthly reports from our data team’s analytics help us and our client identify content that resonates with the audience to help unlock business and marketing opportunities. An adserver and space for digital banners has been implemented to further unlock sales opportunities.
Based on the reception of the Content Hub, our team was tasked with wireframing and prototyping a new sasfin.com website and designing Sasfin’s first mobile banking app using the design language and UI kit we developed.
